Three views of six materials – how long they last according to manufacturers and standards, what they cost for the same component, and whether they can be combined. For the metal-pair check, you enter which metal water runs off and which it runs onto.

Thermal expansion
Coefficients from KJG’s installation guide (mm/m per 10 K): galvanised steel 0.12, copper 0.17, titanium-zinc 0.22, aluminium 0.24. The temperature difference in the example is our own illustrative assumption, not a value from a standard.
